Women’s Track and Field Opens in Seventh at A-Sun Indoor Championships
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Belmont women's track and field team finished day one of the 2012 Atlantic Sun Indoor Championships in seventh-place after recording 10 points.
In the 60m Hurdles prelims, sophomore Jilian Linklater (Lake Orion, Mich.) took third in her heat with a time of 9.17, narrowly missing advancing to the finals in the event.
Belmont's Distance Medley Relay team of senior Caitlin Standifer (Plano, Texas), juniors Kimberly Muldowney (Hoover, Ala.) and Fallon Dickens (Nashville, Tenn.) and freshman Anna Carrigan (Alexandria, Ky.) placed fourth with a time of 12:25.44.
In the 3000m, freshman Mia Elbon (Nashville, Tenn.) and senior Nicole Muldowney (Hoover, Ala.) finished 10th (10:14.74) and 11th (10:16.08) while senior Shannon Titus (Bowling Green, Ohio) rounded out the Bruin presence in 14th.
In the field events, Linklater went on to finish fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.65m while classmate Sarah Wrieden (Middletown, Md.) notched a sixth place finish (4.93m) in her flight of the long jump.
