Women’s Track and Field Shines at Ole Miss Invitational
OXFORD, Miss. – A portion of the Belmont women's track and field team posted strong finishes at the Ole Miss Invitational on Saturday. The Bruins wrapped the two-day meet with four top-25 finishes.
Sophomore Jilian Linklater (Lake Orion, Mich.) was BU's top overall place finisher, tying for fifth in a deep high jump field. She notched a height of 1.65m. Freshman Caylee North (Roland, Ark.) took 28th in the event. In the pole vault, freshman Bobbi LeAnn Walters (O'Neill, Neb.) was tied for 16th with a mark of 3.15m.
On the track, junior Fallon Dickens (Nashville, Tenn.) finished 20th in the 400m with a time of 57.74. Freshman Tanisha Williams (Madison, Tenn.) took 22nd in the event with a time of 58.35. Rookie Dana Veen (Grand Rapids, Mich.) finished 35th in the 1500m (5:03.79) and 45th in the 800m (2:29.09).
The Belmont women's track and field team returns to action April 6-7, splitting action between the Duke Invitational and the Tiger Track Classic hosted by Auburn.
