Women's Track and Field Open Strong at Duke Invitational
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Belmont women's track and field team opened a split action weekend on Friday at the Duke Invitational. On their first day of competition, the Bruins recorded four top-35 finishes at the meet.
At the Duke Invitational, BU had its most impressive showing Section A of the 5000m. Freshman Mia Elbon (Nashville, Tenn.) led the way with a fifth-place finish with a time of 17:22.89. Senior Nicole Muldowney (Hoover, Ala.) took seventh in the event with a time of 17:32.27.
Senior Katelyn Eberhardt (Mishawaka, Ind.) finished 20th in Section B of the 5000m with a time of 19:21.17 while redshirt sophomore Jessica Duble (Lookout Mountain, Ga.) took 34th in the 1500m with a time of 4:54.01.
The Bruins will split action between the Duke Invitational and the Tiger Track Classic hosted by Auburn on Saturday.
