Volleyball Continues Road Swing With Tennessee Tech, Jacksonville State
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Belmont volleyball (8-14, 4-4) hits the road again this weekend for a pair of conference matches at Tennessee Tech and Jacksonville State.
The Bruins dropped two conference matches last weekend, both in five sets. Junior Jen Myer (New Braunfels, Texas) led the Bruins in both matches with a total of 33 kills. She was also one of three players to tally three service aces. Sophomore Alex Martin (Ooltewah, Tenn.) recorded 10 blocks last weekend.
Junior setter Hannah Miranda (Covington, La.) dished out 109 assists over the weekend. She recorded a season-high 59 assists at Southeast Missouri on Friday. Miranda has now tallied 690 assists on the season, averaging 9.87 per set, and is currently ranked fourth in the league.
Junior libero Jamie Lundstrom (La Grange, Ill.) continues to pace the Belmont defense with 386 digs on the season. She is ranked third in the OVC in the category, averaging 5.12 digs per set.
Belmont takes on Tennessee Tech (2-18, 0-8) Friday night with the first serve at 7:00p.m. This will be the second time the two teams will play this season, as Belmont won the first meeting 3-0.
The Bruins and the Gamecocks from Jacksonville State will also face each other for the second time this season. Belmont swept Jacksonville State earlier this month in the Curb Event Center.
