BATON ROUGE, La. - The Belmont baseball team (39-22) made its way to Baton Rouge, La. for its second straight NCAA Regional on Wednesday afternoon, and on Thursday it was time to begin preparation.
The Bruins practiced in LSU's Alex Box Stadium from 1:00 p.m. to about 1:45 p.m. before inclement weather pushed BU into the Tigers' indoor hitting facility for the rest of the alotted time.
Following the work out, Head Coach Dave Jarvis, senior captain Zac Mitchell (Cordova, Tenn.), and juniors Chase Brookshire (Chattanooga, Tenn.) and Judah Akers (Cookeville, Tenn.) spoke with the media about the upcoming Regional Championships.
"The kids need to be ready to weather the types of emotional runs, and the emotional adversity that comes with playing in an environment like Alex Box Stadium," Jarvis said of the LSU home field. At the end of the day, though, a lot of it is going to be decided on the field itself."
Brookshire went on to discuss the team's mindset for the weekend in the video below:
Belmont will continue to prepare for Friday's opener against Oregon State, which takes place at 2:00 p.m. CT. The game, along with the entire Baton Rouge Regional, will be available on the Bruin Sports Network, Cox Sports Television, and CSS.
