SPRINGFIELD, Ark. - - Former Belmont Baseball standout Carlo Testa has been named to the 2012 Texas League All-Star Game.
Testa, an outfielder for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals in the Kansas City Royals organization, has turned in a sparkling first half. The Tallmadge, Ohio native currently ranks among the Texas League leaders in several statistical categories, including home runs (10), total bases (103), slugging percentage (.526), and OPS (.902).
In 2008, Testa turned in one of the best single-seasons in Belmont Baseball history. At the plate, he batted .387 with eight triples and 26 stolen bases, while on the mound he stuck out 70 and recorded six wins. Testa became the first player in Atlantic Sun Conference history to be named First Team All-Atlantic Sun as a position player and pitcher.
The 2012 Texas League All-Star Game will take place June 28 at ONEOK Field in Tulsa, Okla.
