Zac Mitchell Signs With Wichita Wingnuts

WICHITA, Kan. - - Former Belmont University baseball standout Zac Mitchell has signed a professional contract with the Wichita Wingnuts of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball.

Mitchell, who was named ABCA All-South Region and First Team All-Atlantic Sun after batting .350 with a .482 on-base percentage in leading the Bruins to a second straight Atlantic Sun Conference championship an berth in the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional.

The Cordova, Tenn. native also was among the NCAA leaders in hit by pitches (30).

Mitchell received two at-bats for Wichita Tuesday evening in the Wingnuts' contest against the Grand Prairie AirHogs.

Wichita currently leads the American Association with a 31-12 record.
