After a successful opening weekend, Belmont traveled to Western Kentucky for its first road game of the season where they fell 4-1. Despite outhitting the Hilltoppers 9-8, the Bruins weren't able to string together consistent offense.
Belmont continued its hot hitting streak with three Bruins senior Austin Reynolds (Smyrna, Tenn.), junior Chas Hadden (Morristown, Tenn.), and sophomore Matt Cogen (Franklin, Tenn.) registering multiple hits at Western Kentucky. Hadden recorded the lone RBI of the afternoon.
Sophomore Justin Fowlkes (Collierville, Tenn.) threw five innings for the Bruins, sitting down two. Freshman Chandler Schultz (Nashville, Tenn.), freshman Stone Selby (Nashville, Tenn.), sophomore Brankon Liskey (Harrisonburg, Va.), and freshman Kyle Brennan (Franklin, Tenn.) also saw time on the bump.

This is the first time Belmont and Fairleigh Dickinson have met in regular season competition.
