NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont University Baseball heads to Knoxville for a midweek matchup with University of Tennessee Tuesday evening. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network with first pitch slated for 6:00 p.m. CT. 


Belmont and Tennessee first met in 2000 and have met 14 times overall. UT leads the overall series 10-4 with all meetings except one being in Knoxville and all under Head Coach Dave Jarvis. All matchups have been midweek matchups. Last season, the squad's met in Knoxville on April 3rd when Belmont lost 9-2. 


Senior Hunter Holland (Soddy Daisy, Tenn.) jumped to the top of the Belmont stat sheet this week after heating up at the plate. He notched six hits last week, improving his batting average to .299, the second-best on the squad. In BU's loss to Austin Peay on Saturday, Holland boasted an impressive three-for-four day at the plate. He had an impressive slugging percentage of .625 and drove in three runs on the week. 


Two Bruins will be playing in or near their hometowns on Tuesday. Junior Chandler Adkins is from Knoxville and senior Devon Gardner is from nearby Maryville.
