NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After earning Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week honors earlier this week, senior Hunter Holland (Soddy Daisy, Tenn.) has garnered yet another honor. Holland has been named the Tennesee ports Writing Association Player of the Week.
In last week's four games, Holland hit .400 with five runs scored, two doubles, a triple and three home runs for a 1.267 slugging percentage. In addition, Holland recorded 13 RBI, two stolen bases and .474 on-base percentage helping Belmont to a 3-1 record. All six of his hits were for extra bases.
Holland hit two home runs, including a three-run blast in his first at-bat, and drove in six in Sunday's 9-5 series clinging victory over Tennessee Tech. In the first game of the TTU series, the senior was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, a sacrifice fly and five RBI as Belmont won 11-7. He also drove in a couple runs in the midweek victory over rival Lipscomb.
Holland and the Belmont Bruins will be back in action Wednesday, May 1 at Evansville for a 6:00 p.m. CT First Pitch.
