NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont University Baseball continues Ohio Valley Conference play this weekend at E.S. Rose Park as it hosts Southeast Missouri State University. First pitch of the series is slated for Friday, May 3 at 6:00 p.m. CT.
Senior Hunter Holland (Soddy Daisy, Tenn.) earned OVC and TSWA Player of the Week honors after an impressive weekend at Tennessee Tech. In four games last week, Holland hit .400 with two doubles, a triple and three home runs for a 1.267 slugging percentage. In addition, he notched 13 RBI, stole two bags and boasted a .474 on base percentage. Holland currently ranks second in the OVC in triples, fourth in doubles and 10thin RBI.
SHUT THE DOOR
Sophomore Kyle Brennan (Franklin, Tenn.) has cemented himself as BU's go-to closer during the 2019 campaign. He leads the team with seven saves on the season. Brennan has secured a save in each of his last five appearances.
Freshman Grayson Taylor (Madison, Ala.) is riding a 10-game hitting streak heading into the weekend. His hitting streak is the longest active hitting streak in the OVC.
WALK IT OUT
Senior Chas Hadden (Morristown, Tenn.) has been a problem for opponents at the plate this season. He leads Belmont with 38 bases on balls which also ranks second in the OVC. Hadden ranks 22ndin the nation in walks per game (0.97) and 29thin total walks. Hadden is the active NCAA Division I career leader in bases on balls (191).
