Queener has been named to the All-OVC second team while South has earned All-Freshman Team honors.
The second-team included 17 players from the conference due to ties in voting. Queener was one of 11 seniors named to the team. Queener led the Belmont pitching staff all season as the team's Friday night starter. He led the team in five wins and pitched an impressive 81.2 innings. The ace struck out an impressive 110 batters, the most in the OVC and the 17th most in the NCAA. Queener was also national ranked (27th) in strikeouts per nine innings with a mark of 12.12. His 4.52 ERA and .245 opponent batting average were both ranked top-10 in the OVC.
Joshua South was named to the 13-man All-Freshman team that had representatives from nine schools. South was one of the most impressive freshman throwers in the OVC all season long. The freshman threw two complete games, including a complete game shutout. He led BU in innings pitched with 84.0, a mark that ranked fourth in the conference. His 21 walks, 73 strikeouts and 3.86 ERA were all top-10 marks in the OVC this season.
Belmont will play in the OVC Tournament Wednesday, May 22 at 9:00 a.m. CT at Rent One Park in Marion, Ill.
