Caleb Longshore was announced as a full-time assistant coach and pitching coach in June of 2018. Longshore’s main duties entail working with Belmont’s pitching staff.
Longshore, a native of Cleveland, Alabama, comes to Belmont after spending time as the pitching coach at Arkansas State and, most recently, Middle Tennessee. His coaching experience also extends west, as he has served at California Baptist University and as associate head coach at NAIA powerhouse Oklahoma Wesleyan. While in Oklahoma, the Eagles set a school record with 58 wins in 2014 and competed in the NAIA World Series for the first time.
Longshore has helped to develop many impressive arms, including MTSU’s All-Conference USA hurler Jake Wyrick. While in Jonesboro, he coached a pair of Arkansas State players to All-Sun Belt honors, with pitcher Tyler Zuber becoming the Red Wolves’ highest draft pick in program history-selected in the sixth round of the 2017 MLB Entry Draft by the Kansas City Royals.
He graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University in 2011, where he was a member of the Trojan baseball team and a student assistant coach for two years. Prior to his time at Trevecca, he played two years at Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham, Alabama.
