Overall Impressions

"I thought it was a really good game, a really well played game. I thought Mercer played extremely well and played extremely hard. Their rebounding numbers relate to effort and their effort was strong. I felt the entire second half was played at such a high level, with every possession carrying great importance. Overall, it was one of our better offensive games of the season. We had good shooting numbers, good free throw shooting and established an inside presence. To be honest, our first shot defense was OK. We just need to figure out a way to get the ball."

On stretch of frequent substitutions in each half

"That was just me subbing on turnovers and poor rebounding. Way back when, I played some basketball, too, so I know that mistakes happen. It is part of the game. But when we have breakdowns, we need to address why they happen in the moment. That's how you improve. I think I can do that best by bringing the players over and then putting them back in. Tonight, it was simply a matter of trying to find somebody who wanted to play hard and play smart at the same time. The players responded well and supported each other."

On Belcher three-pointer with two minutes left

"Clearly that was a very big play in the game. We felt we had a good play call. Coach Alexander deserves credit for that. The players executed well and Keaton made the shot."
