NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont men's basketball returns to action following the Thanksgiving holiday Monday, hosting Trevecca Nazarene.
Belmont has been off since defeating Towson and Middle Tennessee State to claim the EA Sports Maui Invitational Regional Championship. Junior Kerron Johnson (Huntsville, Ala.) was named tournament most valuable player.
Sophomore J.J. Mann has picked up right where he left off from his fine freshman campaign. The Smyrna, Ga. native, who earned Atlantic Sun All-Freshman Team honors a year ago, has scored in double figures in each of the Bruins' first four games, including a career-high 19 points at Middle Tennessee State Nov. 20.
This marks the 68 meeting between Belmont and Trevecca Nazarene, but the first since January of 1997.
Former Bruin All-American Alex Renfroe began his playing career at Trevecca, earning NAIA All-America honors in 2006.
