COLUMBUS, Ohio - - Belmont University men's basketball took part in NCAA Tournament Media Day festivities Thursday at Nationwide Arena.
Seniors Drew Hanlen (St. Louis, Mo.) and Mick Hedgepeth (Crossville, Ala.) and juniors Ian Clark (Memphis, Tenn.) and Kerron Johnson (Huntsville, Ala.) represented Belmont in the media interview room. After the student-athlete interview session, Belmont head coach Rick Byrd fielded questions from assembled media members.
Questions delved into Belmont's string of NCAA Tournament appearances, its experienced roster, and Byrd's opinion on reasons for his program's sustained success.
Belmont, who ranks ninth in the nation in victories over the past two seasons (57), then took the Nationwide Arena floor for a 40 minute open practice.
The Bruins went through shooting drills and five-on-five simulated sets.
Tip-off against third-seeded Georgetown is set for approximately 2:10 p.m. CT Friday. The game will be broadcast live on truTV and 104.5 The Zone.
