NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Former Belmont University men's basketball All-American Ian Clark ('13) has agreed to a one-year deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, Shams Charania and Jordan Schultz of Yahoo Sports reported Friday.
Clark, who will enter his sixth NBA season, became an integral member of the Pelicans this past season, recording career-highs in scoring (7.4 ppg), assists 1.5 (apg) and minutes played (19.7 mpg).
As part of New Orleans' playoff push, Clark buried a decisive 3-pointer in Game 1 of the Pelicans' opening round sweep of Portland, and scored a playoff career-high 18 points vs. Golden State in the NBA Western Conference semifinals.
The Memphis, Tennessee native, who scored 1,920 points in leading Belmont to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, averaged 11.0 points per game on 49 percent shooting after the NBA All-Star break.
Clark earned an NBA Championship ring as part of the 2017 Golden State Warriors.
He has also played for the Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz.
