Middle Tennessee Game Preview

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns to game action Monday vs. Middle Tennessee.

The Bruins defeated Illinois State, 100-89, Saturday in the 2018-19 season opener. Caleb Hollander (Nashville, Tenn.) led five Bruins in double figures with 21 points.

Grayson Murphy (Thompson's Station, Tenn.) had 13 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists, while Nick Muszynski (Pickerington, Ohio) had 18 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots.

Belmont handed out 26 assists on 37 made field goals in the victory.

Belmont and Middle Tennessee combined to place four players on the NABC All-District teams in 2017-18 (Belmont: Dylan Windler, Amanze Egekeze; Middle Tennessee: Nick King, Giddy Potts).

Including redshirts in 2017-18, Belmont (10) and Middle Tennessee (9) combine to have 19 roster newcomers this season.

Senior All-America candidate Dylan Windler (Indianapolis, Ind.) posted one of his 15 double-doubles in 2017-18 at Middle Tennessee, recording 11 points and 10 rebounds.

This marks the 16th straight season Belmont and Middle Tennessee have played during the non-conference schedule.

Belmont has won eight of the last 11 meetings, including 69-63 in Murfreesboro last season.
