NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Behind 23 points and nine rebounds from senior All-America candidate Dylan Windler (Indianapolis, Ind.), Belmont University men's basketball defeated Tennessee Tech, 79-67, Saturday.

Freshman Nick Muszynski (Pickerington, Ohio) capped a 13-0 run in the latter portion of the first half as Belmont seized a 42-32 halftime lead.

The Bruins maintained a double figure lead throughout the second half behind stingy defense and the all-court play of Windler.

Senior Kevin McClain (Jennings, Fla.) strung together a remarkable halfcourt bounce feed to junior Seth Adelsperger (Peru, Ind.) for two with a twisting reverse layin of his own for a 54-41 lead with 13:44 left.

A Windler wing 3-pointer made the score 61-45 with 10:59 remaining.

The teams combined to shoot 29 second half free throws.

Belmont outscored Tennessee Tech 42-30 in the paint and 27-14 in bench points as nine Bruins scored.

Aside from Windler, Muszynski and Adelsperger added 12 points each.

Malik Martin led Tennessee Tech (5-10, 1-1 OVC) with 17 points.

Belmont (10-3, 1-1 OVC) returns to game action Thursday, Jan. 10 vs. Morehead State. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. CT from Curb Event Center.
