NASHVILLE, TENN. - - Belmont men's basketball hosts Kennesaw State Saturday as part of Homecoming Weekend. Belmont shot 54 percent from the field and forced 19 turnovers in defeating Mercer Thursday, 77-73.

Sophomore Mick Hedgepeth scored a game-high 15 points on 6-for-8 shooting against Mercer. The Crossville, Ala. native ranks fifth in the Atlantic Sun in field goal percentage (.558), eighth in blocked shots (0.97) and 10th in rebounding (6.4).

Defense has been a staple for the Bruins this season. Belmont has forced 15 or more turnovers in seven of its last nine games. Moreover, the Bruins have held 17 consecutive opponents under 50 percent shooting from the field since playing at No. 1 Kansas Dec. 29.

Belmont has won six of the previous eight meetings with Kennesaw State, including a 75-70 overtime victory in Georgia Dec. 3. Saturday marks the final regular season home game for seniors Keaton Belcher and Mike Dejworek.
