HEBRON, Ky. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in 10th place at the Bearcat Invitational held this week at the Traditions Golf Club in Hebron, Kentucky.
In Tuesday's final round, Belmont shot a team score of 294 to move up three spots to 10th place with a 54-hole score of 894. Austin Peay won the team title with a score of 868, while Kentucky finished one shot behind in second place at 869.
Two Bruins finished among the top-20. Junior Elliott Wickenden posted his second top-10 finish of the fall season as he tied for 10th place with a three round score of 218. Sophomore Ben Simpson tied for 17th place after shooting an even-par 72 on Tuesday to finish with a 54-hole score of 219. It was second top-20 finish of his career. Other Belmont scores from the event included: freshman Carson Ward (T-50th, 227), freshman Ted Moon (T-62nd, 232), and freshman Adam Sanders (67th, 234). The tournament's individual medalist was Brian Dorfman of Georgetown, who finished with a score of 210.
The men's golf team will wrap up their 2011 fall season next Monday and Tuesday, October 17-18, at the F&MBank APSU Intercollegiate in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
