Men's Golf Stands 10th after Day one of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate

PINEHURST, N.C. – The Belmont men's golf team stands in 10th place after day one of the Golf Pride Pinehurst Intercollegiate held Saturday at The Golf Club at Pinehurst #6 in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Belmont posted rounds of 302 and 299 for a 36-hole total of 601, which puts them in 10th place.  Old Dominion is the tournament leader after they carded a 574 on day one.

Three Bruins are among the top-40.  Freshman Chris Thurman is tied for 15th place after he shot a 146 on Saturday.  Junior Elliott Wickenden and freshman Ted Moon are tied for 37th place after each posted a score of 151 after 36 holes.  Sophomore Ben Simpson is tied for 47thplace at 153, while freshman Adam Sanders is in 71st place at 164.   Freshman Carson Ward, competing as an individual, is in 72nd place at 168.
