PINEHURST, N.C. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in 10th place at the Golf Pride Pinehurst Intercollegiate held this weekend at The Golf Club at Pinehurst #6 in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
Belmont posted a team score of 300 in Sunday's final round to finish in 10th place with a 54-hole mark of 901. Old Dominion won the tournament title with a score of 871, while Eastern Kentucky placed second.
Three Bruins are among the top-40. Freshman Ted Moon led the team as he tied for 21st with a score of 222. Fellow freshman Chris Thurman finished in 32nd place at 224, while junior Elliott Wickeden tied for 33rd place at 225. Other Belmont scores from the event included: Ben Simpson (T-50th, 230) and freshman Adam Sanders (T-70th, 249). Freshman Carson Ward, competing as an individual, finished in 72nd place at 251.
The men's golf team returns to action on March 26-27 when they compete in the UALR First Tee Invitational in Arkansas.
