NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's golf program announces that Evan Davis, Bogle LaRue, and Jack Uselton have signed National Letters of Intent and will compete for the Bruins beginning in the fall of 2017.
Evan Davis hails from Lexington, Kentucky and prepped at Lexington Christian Academy. He earned three tournament wins in 2016, including the Kentucky PGA Junior Tour Championship. Davis ranks seventh in the state according to Junior Golf Scoreboard and earned All-Region honors after his junior and senior years.
Bogle LaRue is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee and played at Bearden High School. Currently ranked 13th in the state, he earned All-District, All-Region, and All-Knoxville Interscholastic League honors as a senior. Bogle posted three top-11 finishes on the Sneds Tour last summer and tied for 16th at the Tennessee State Junior Amateur in July.
Jack Uselton is a Tullahoma, Tennessee product, who lettered at Tullahoma High School. He is a two-time State Tournament qualifier, earning a 13th place as a senior. In addition, he posted 17 top-10 finishes on the Sneds Tour over the past two summers.
"We are very excited about our incoming class and feel very confident that they'll all enjoy successful careers at Belmont, both in the classroom and on the golf course," said Scott Flynn, Belmont's head coach. "Aside from their considerable accomplishments in high school and junior golf, all three are outstanding young men that will be great additions to the entire Belmont community. All three have a passion for the game and we're looking forward to helping them reach their potential as top level collegiate players."
In five events this fall, the men's golf team earned four top-10 finishes. They will begin their spring season on February 20-21, 2017 at The Invitational at Savannah Harbor in Savannah, Georgia.
