NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's golf team kicks off its 2017 spring season this Monday and Tuesday at The Invitational at Savannah Harbor hosted by William and Mary in Savannah, Georgia.
The Bruins posted four top-10 finishes during the fall, which included a season-best sixth place finish at the Pinetree Intercollegiate in October.
Leading the way for the Bruins are a pair of underclassmen. Freshman Nate Thomson leads the team with a 74.7 scoring average. He has three top-25 finishes in five events, including a tie for fifth at the Trevecca Fall Invitational and a 13th place finish at the Pinetree Intercollegiate.
Daniel Booker, a 2016 OVC All-Freshman honoree, ranks second on the team in scoring at 75.0. The sophomore from Dyersburg, Tennessee, posted two top-25 finishes in the fall including a 21st place showing at Marshall in September.
This week's Invitational at Savannah Harbor will be held on the Par 72, 7,287 yard Club at Savannah Harbor in Savannah, Georgia. The field features 14 teams, including fellow OVC members Austin Peay and Eastern Kentucky, Ohio, Brown, and host William and Mary.
The tournament is a two-day, 54-hole event, with 36 holes played Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.
