SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in fourth place at this week's The Invitational at Savannah Harbor hosted by William and Mary and held at The Club at Savannah Harbor in Savannah, Georgia.
The Bruins posted a team score of 299 in Tuesday's final round to finish the event in fourth place with a 54-hole score of 873. Host William and Mary won the team title with a mark of 852. USC-Beaufort placed second at 863, while Eastern Kentucky was third at 870.
Three Belmont golfers finished among the top-20. Freshman McCullough Pickens shot a final round 74 and finished in a tied for fourth place with a score of 214 (-2). He finished four shots behind individual medalist, Austin Morrison of William and Mary (210). It was Pickens' best finish as a Bruin.
The men's golf team will take a break for a few weeks before returning to competition on March 10-12 at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
