SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in ninth place at this week's Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate held on the River Course at Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tennessee.
The Bruins shot a team score of 299 on Tuesday to finish the tournament in ninth place at 888. Eastern Kentucky won the team title as they edged second place Carson-Newman by one shot (850 to 851).
Belmont was led by freshman Jack Uselton. He carded an even-par 72 in the final round to finish the event in a tie for 14th place at 216. It was the Tullahoma native's second top-20 finish of the season and his lowest score in a 54-hole event during the 2017-18 campaign.
Senior Logan Matthews posted an even par 72 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 27th place at 220.
Carson-Newman's Tom Foster won medalist honors with a three-day score of 203.
The men's golf is off for a couple of weeks before returning to competition on April 2-3 at the ASU Red Wolf Intercollegiate in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
