Eighth Place Finish at Hummingbird

CASHIERS, N.C. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in eighth place at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate held this week at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley in Cashiers, North Carolina.

In Tuesday's final round, the Bruins carded an even par 288 to finish the event in eighth place at 852.  Georgia Southern won the team title with a mark of 822, while Morehead State placed second at 835.

Sophomore Jack Uselton led BU as he carded a one under par 71 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 10th place at 208.  He finished five shots behind medalist Steven Fish of Georgia Southern.  It was Uselton's third career top-10 finish.

Senior Daniel Booker shot a 73 in the final round to finish in a tie for 33rd place at 208. 

Other Belmont finishers from the tournament included: freshman Coleman Jones (T-45, 216), sophomore Evan Davis (T-51, 218), and junior Win Temple (T-74, 225).

The men's golf team takes a couple of weeks off before returning to action on October 15-16 at the APSU Intercollegiate in Dickson, Tennessee.
