SAVANNAH, Ga. – Led by individual leader Evan Davis, the Belmont men's golf team stands in fourth place after day one of The Invitational at Savannah Harbor held Saturday in Savannah, Georgia.
In their first rounds of the spring season, the Bruins carded scores of 289 and 293 to finish the day in fourth place at 582. They are four shots behind first place Austin Peay (578). Jacksonville State and North Dakota State are tied for second at 581.
Sophomore Evan Davis is the individual leader after 36 holes. He posted rounds of 69 and 70 on Saturday to finish the day in first place at 139 (-5). The Lexington, Kentucky native is one shot ahead of Andrew Israelson of North Dakota State, who is in second place at 140.
The only other Bruin in the top-20 is senior Daniel Booker. The Dyersburg, Tennessee native is tied for 16th place at 146 after shooting rounds of 69 and 77.
The third and final round will begin Sunday morning with an 8:00am ET shotgun start.
