SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Belmont men's golf team is in sixth place after 36 holes of the Wofford Intercollegiate held Monday at the Country Club of Spartanburg in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Belmont carded rounds of 297 and 281 on Monday to finish the day in sixth place at 578. Furman has the lead at 561, while Austin Peay is second at 570.
Two Bruins are among the top-20 after day one. Sophomore Bogle LaRue posted rounds of 74 and 70 to finish the day tied for 15th place at 144. He is nine shots behind the individual leaders: Ryan Hall of South Carolina and Jack Crosby of Furman (135).
Fellow sophomore Evan Davis is tied for 19th place at 145 after shooting rounds of 78 and 67 on Monday. His second round 67 is tied for the second lowest round of the season by a Belmont golfer.
