SPARTANBURG, S. C. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in a tie for fifth place at the Wofford Intercollegiate held this week at the Country Club of Spartanburg in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
The Ruins carded a team score of 295 on Tuesday to move up a spot and finish in a tie for fifth place at 873. It was their third top-five finish of the spring season. Furman won the team title with a mark of 839, while Austin Peay was second at 866.
Two Bruins finished among the top-20 at this week's event. Sophomore Evan Davis finished in a tie for 11th place at 216. He shot a one under 71 in the final round. It was his fourth top-15 finish of the spring. Senior Daniel Booker was one shot behind Davis and finished in a tie for 17th place at 217. He also carded a one under 71 in the final round.
Furman's Jack Crosby was the individual medalist, finishing with a score of 203.
The men's golf team closes out their regular season next Monday and Tuesday, April 8-9, at the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate at Nashville's Richland Country Club.
