NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's golf team finished tied for ninth at the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate held this week at Nashville's Richland Country Club.
On a beautiful, sunny Tuesday in Nashville, the Bruins posted a 304 in the final round to finish in a tie for ninth place at 599 with Omaha. USC Upstate won the team title with a score of 573, while Southern Miss was second at 576.
Two Bruins finished among the top-15. Freshman Coleman Jones, competing as an individual, carded an even par 71 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for seventh place at 142. The Franklin, Tennessee native finished five shots behind individual medalist, Brian Richards of Southern Miss (137). It was Jones' first collegiate top-10 finish.
Senior Daniel Booker shot a one under par 70 finish in a tie for 13th place at 144. It was Booker's sixth top-20 finish of the season.
The men's golf team has a couple of weeks off before returning to the course on April 21-23 at the OVC Championship in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
