BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Despite goals from senior Adam Voloder (New South Wales, Australia) and freshman Daniel Twizer (Haifa, Israel), Belmont University Men's Soccer falls to Campbell 5-2 on Friday night in its first of two road games this weekend.

The offense in this match was a factor early and often. Voloder made an instant impact in the match, recording the first shot for either side in the sixth' before taking another shot in the 17'. His second shot, taken off of a beautiful service by sophomore Ares Marlonsson (Thornton, Colo.), found the back of the net to give Belmont an early 1-0 lead.

For the next several minutes, both teams were aggressive and continued to fire shots before Campbell found the equalizer in the 30'. Campbell scored again just before the end of the period, finding the go-ahead goal in the 44'.  Despite being down a goal, Belmont proved to be the offensive aggressor, having earned four corners to the Camels' one and outshooting Campbell 6-4.

The Bruins' came out hot in the second half and earned two corners in the 48' but were unable to get on the end of the service to score the go-ahead goal. Sophomore Matteo Bennati (Genova, Italy) had one of the better looks of the half in the 53' when his shot nailed the crossbar. Belmont continued to give the Camels' all it could handle, earning two more corners in the 60'. Soon after, Belmont launched an offensive attack in which freshman Niccolo Dagnoni (Milan, Italy) found Twizer who knocked the ball between the posts to tie the match 2-2.

Campbell found their rhythm and scored three more goals in the remainder of the second half to secure the 5-2 victory.

The Bruins, however, saw improvement Friday night from last weekend's match on the offensive front. The Bruins were threatening in its attacking third and earned eight corner kicks, 13 shots, and landed seven on frame, forcing the Camels to make five saves on the night.

Belmont will be back on the pitch Monday, September 3 as they travel to Appalachian State for a 12:00 p.m. CT kickoff.
