Home Sweet Home

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After opening the season with three matches on the road, the Belmont Men's Soccer Team finally returns to its home pitch on Saturday afternoon for a matchup with the University of San Diego.

ABOUT THE BRUINS

The Bruins have yet to play in the friendly confines of E.S. Rose Park this season. Their first three regular season games were on the road against Lipscomb, Campbell and Appalachian State. The Bruins are still looking for their first win of the season after a tough slate to start the season. Senior Adam Voloder (New South Wales, Australia) and freshman Daniel Twizer (Haifa, Israel) have scored a goal each for the Bruins with both coming against Appalachian State while Freshman Niccolo Dagnoni (Milan, Italy) and Ares Marlonsson (Denver, Colo.) have both tallied an assist on the year.

SERIES BREAKDOWN

This will be the first time that the USD and Belmont men's soccer programs have met in regular season play. In fact, this is the first time that Belmont has faced any side in the West Coast Conference for a men's soccer match.

ABOUT SAN DIEGO

San Diego is sitting at 2-2-1 on the season and are riding a two-game winning streak as they make the long trip to Nashville. The match will likely be a defensive battle as the Toreros have scored just four goals in their first five matches, averaging just 0.80 per game. However, the USD offense has been fairly balanced with four different goal scorers on the year. Junior forward Miguel Berry leads the team with three points after he notched an assist in addition to his goal scored. Berry is the Torero's biggest attacking threat to date, having blasted 24 shots with nine on frame.
