NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont University men's soccer continues SoCon play Tuesday as it plays host to Mercer. Kickoff at E.S. Rose Park is slated for 6:30 p.m. CT.
LAST TIME OUT
In its last match, the Bruins played its final non-conference game of the season as it faced No. 13 UNC Wilmington. The match was the first one played at the UNCW Soccer Stadium since Hurricane Florence blew through.
The two teams have met 15 times prior to the 2018 season. Mercer leads the all-time series 6-8-1. The last meeting of the two teams was in 2011 when they both competed in the A-Sun. Mercer won that matchup 2-1 over the Bruins.

The Mercer Bears finished last season with a 4-4-2 conference record to secure a fourth-place spot in the SoCon. With 13 returners, including five starters, the Bears are off to a good start in this young conference season with a 2-0 record. The side is producing well on the offensive end, scoring over two goals and peppering over 17 shots a game on average. The Bears lead the conference in several offensive statistical categories, including shots (223), points (95), goals (31) and assists (33). The impressive offensive effort has been led by Trevor Martineau who has had a standout freshman campaign. He has scored six goals and dished out five assists, earning points in seven of Mercer's 13 matches this season. He leads the SoCon in points and points per game. On the other end, Mercer has allowed 15 goals and made 46 saves.
