NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont University men's soccer continues SoCon play Saturday evening as it travels to Spartanburg, S.C. to take on Wofford. Kickoff at Snyder Field is slated for 6:00 p.m. CT.
Belmont and Wofford have met six times historically. Wofford leads the all-time series 5-1-0, but the last time the two sides met was in 2009. In the last matchup, Wofford won 2-1 in overtime.
LAST TIME OUT
In its last match, the Bruins played conference foe, Mercer. BU jumped out to an early 1-0 lead thanks to freshman Liam O'Brien's (Freehold, N.J.) first career goal. Mercer quickly equalized and ultimately took the lead, winning the match 3-1.
GET TO KNOW WOFFORD
The Wofford Terriers are 2-10-1 on the season and have a 1-3 SoCon record. The side is currently on a two-game losing skid with its last win coming against UNCG in double overtime for its only conference victory. Offensively, the Terriers are led by Connor Donohue who has scored four of the squad's 11 goals and has dished out two assists for 10 points. The Terrier's defense is allowing over two goals a game on average this season, giving the Bruins the opportunity to showcase its offense.
