NASHVILLE, Tenn.— The Belmont Bruins return to action on MLK Day for a tennis doubleheader, as the Bruins face the Southern Utah Thunderbirds at 11:00 A.M, and then the Martin Methodist Redhawks.
This will be the Bruins' first home-stand of the season after their first spring match against the Memphis Tigers.
Belmont will be looking to have a successful double-header and grab its first win of the season, as they lost to a Memphis team that has had lots of experience in the NCAA tournament.
Belmont will be looking onto junior Hendrik Inno and sophomore Marko Ilić primarily, as they represent the Bruins as the number 1 and 2 respectively.
Marko Ilić will hope to add to his win total Monday, as he had a successful match against the redshirt-freshman from Memphis, Jeremy Taylor. The rest of the team will seek to enter the win column in each of their matches.
Belmont kicks off the MLK doubleheader with a match against Southern Utah. The Thunderbirds began their Tennessee road trip with two dominating wins against OVC competitor, Austin Peay, and Cumberland University.
After that, the Bruins face off against Martin Methodist, who will be playing in their first match of the season. Martin Methodist is entering the season ranked 5th in the SSAC.
The two matches will be held at Centennial Park in Nashville, Tenn. Results will be posted on the Belmont Bruins website.
