Strong Finish at the Commodore Invitational

NASHVILLE Tenn. – The Belmont University men's track and field team concluded its second indoor meet of the season at the Commodore Invitational on Saturday.

Junior Nathan Nammour (Tampa, Fla.) broke the Belmont University indoor record in the 400 meters previously held by fellow teammate Freshman Ryan Teague (Double Oak, Texas). Later in the meet, Teague retook his record with a time of 48.96. Both Nammour and Teague finished in the top 15 in the 400 meters.

Other notable performances came from the Bruin's 3K runners, highlighted by sophomore Kaleb McLeod (Soperton, Ga.) running a great race with a time of 8:28.58.

Belmont also boasted strong performances by its three athletes competing in the 60m Hurdles.

"I think we got what we came for out of this meet. It was a good opportunity for our distance group to open up for the 2017 track season, and we saw some awesome performances by our 400m crew. Nate and Ryan are a huge part of what we're trying to build with our track squad," said Head Coach Jeff Langdon.

The track and field teams will be back in action January 27-28 at the Thundering Herd Invitational in Huntington, W.Va.
