NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont University men's track and field team will return to Nashville to compete in the Music City Challenge Feb. 10-11.

The meet, hosted by Vanderbilt, will be the final indoor meet of the season before the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships. 

The meet will begin Friday at 4 p.m. with the men's and women's high jump and the women's weight throw.  Saturday, action will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the women's pole vault.

Action will be held at the Vanderbilt Student Rec Center.

Fellow OVC member Tennessee State will be competing.  Other notable entries include South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Arizona, Mississippi State, Louisiana Tech, and Vanderbilt. Arkansas, a top five program, will also be in attendance. 

Last weekend, the Bruins built on recent success with 10 top 10 finishes at the MTSU Invitational.

Senior Sean Magnuson (Mokena, Ill.) led the Bruins' campaign with a second place and personal best throw in the shot put.  Sophomore Corey Claiborne (Alpharetta, Ga.) placed third in the event.

The weight throw continued to be a successful event with Belmont boasting second, third, and fourth place finishes.  Senior Dell McSpadden (Brentwood, Tenn.) led the weight throw squad. 

The high jump also brought a top five finish with senior Jacob Spalding (Franklin, Tenn.) recording a second place finish.
