NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont University men's track and field team will be competing at the Florida Relays March 30 – April 1.
The meet will begin on Thursday at 5 p.m. central time with the men's hammer throw. Friday competition will kick off at 12 p.m. with the women's hammer throw and Saturday at 11 a.m. with the men's discus.
The Bruins will be competing against the likes of powerhouse schools Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Miami, Ole Miss, Alabama, Mississippi State, and Oregon to name a few.
11 athletes will compete in six events on the weekend.
Senior throws specialist Del McSpadden (Brentwood, Tenn.) will compete at the Bellarmine Invitational in Louisville, KY. on Friday.
Last time out the Bruins boasted a successful weekend at both the Raleigh Relays and the Joe Walker invitational where multiple personal and school records were surpassed.
Junior Nathan Nammour (Tampa, Fla.) is coming off of a school record performance in the 200 meter dash clocking in at 21.69. His teammate Ryan Teague (Double Oak, Texas) finished right on Nammour's heels with a time of 21.74, which also broke the previous school record.
Another personal best was recorded in the 400 meter hurdles when Christian Crenshaw (Memphis, Tenn.) ran his race with a time of 53.89. Junior Caleb Corprew (Midwest City, Okla.) also boasted an impressive finish in the 110 meter hurdles clocking in at 14.84.
