MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The Belmont Bruins return to action in the indoor season tomorrow, as they compete in the MTSU Invite.
Belmont has been showing some true prowess in the last few meets, and last weekend's meet in Huntington, W.Va. was no exception.
Last weekend, Belmont's men's team put on a show in the field events, as there were three event winners in the Thundering Herd Invitational: sophomore Cal Widener in the Shot Put, junior Braden Carei in the Pole Vault, and freshman Noah Grimm in the High Jump.
Cal Widener is set to compete in the Men's Shot Put and the Men's Weight Throw, two events that he had massive success in last weekend. Of the three event winners of last weekend for the men's side, he will be the only one competing tomorrow.
On the women's side, Belmont put on a masterful 5K performance by finishing the event with an All-Belmont podium, with junior Kortney Schardt finishing first, senior Courtney Alama finishing second, and sophomore Claire Cheeseman finishing third. Though all three are going to be off for tomorrow's competition.
Senior Karly Hibbard will be competing tomorrow for the Bruins, as she will be competing in the Women's Shot Put. Last weekend, she had a solid performance that came with the second place finish in the event.
The Bruins begin the day at 10:30, with the last event going off at 4:00 tomorrow. Live results can be found at bit.ly/2SdoetS curtesy of C.F.P.I. Timing.
