NEW ORLEANS - - Belmont University men's cross country skyrocketed to No. 4 in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) South Region poll released Monday.
A fixture in the USTFCCCA Regional Rankings for the past two decades, this marks the Bruins' highest standing in the South Region poll since joining the Ohio Valley Conference.

Freshman Jacob McLeod (Soperton, Ga.) - among the top first-year runners in the nation - junior Jacob McLeod (Soperton, Ga.), senior Matt Edwards (Barry, Wales) were three of the top 17 finishers in the sparkling field, while junior Declan McManus (Worcestershire, England) and junior Aidan Thompson (Dunfermline, Scotland) also placed top-50.
Belmont now ranks ahead of Power 5 programs Florida State, Florida, Georgia Tech, Georgia, and Vanderbilt in the South Region poll.
