LOS ANGELES - - Belmont University women's basketball graduate Paris Lawson ('19) was named to the 2019 STAA All-America Program Honors, Sportscasters Talent Agency of America announced Friday.
Lawson, who served as lead on-air personality for numerous Belmont productions, including This Week in Belmont Athletics and Around the Curb, was recognized among the nation's top collegiate sports broadcasters.
A Murfreesboro, Tennessee native and member of Belmont's four consecutive NCAA Tournament women's basketball teams, Lawson also served as sideline reporter for ESPN+, the American Sports Network (now Stadium), Nashville SC (USL soccer/MLS 2020), and a March Madness correspondent for WKRN-TV.
Lawson joined Alexa Shaw from TCU as the only female honorees in the Top 20 list.
The STAA All-America Competition recognizes the most outstanding collegiate radio and TV sports broadcasters. The STAA mission is to encourage collegiate sportscasters to strive to achieve their best.
