Women's Golf Beats Lipscomb in Wednesday's Dual Match

OLD HICKORY, Tenn. – In their first competition in two weeks, the Belmont women's golf team defeated rival Lipscomb in a dual match held Wednesday at Old Hickory Country Club in Old Hickory, Tennessee.

The Bruins picked up the dual match victory after posting an 18-hole team score of 310, be­­sting the Lady Bisons, who shot 323, by 13 strokes.

Belmont was led by juniors Evin Edens and Sydney Hudson, who tied as individual medalists after each shot a 75.  Other BU scores from the match included: freshman Abbie Gregory posting a 79, ­freshman Megan Heath shooting an 81 and senior Shay Sullivan carding an 87. 

Freshman Alexi Bevans competed as an individual and shot an 81. 

Lipscomb was led by Miriam Parker, who posted a 77. 

The women's golf team will be back in action this Saturday as they play a tri-match with Austin Peay and Murray State in Huntsville, Alabama.
