Up and Down Day in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky.  – The Belmont women's golf team stands in fourth place after first day of the MSU/Greenbrier Invitational held Monday at the Greenbrier Golf and Country Club in Lexington, Kentucky. 

On day one, Belmont posted rounds of 324 and 312 to finish the day in fourth place at 636.  Cincinnati holds the team lead at 614, while Austin Peay is in second at 623.

Two Bruins are among the top-20 after day one.  Senior Emma Kate Liu is tied for 16th place at 157.  She carded rounds of 78 and 79.  Sophomore Maribeth Peevy is one shot back of Liu in 18th place at 158.  She shot rounds of 81 and 77 on Monday. 

Other Belmont scores from Monday's play included: freshman Cameron Fish (23rd, 160), freshman Katelyn Dunstan (T-24, 161), and junior Carlee Nanney (T-33, 169).

Freshman Courtney Bryant is competing as an individual and is tied for 24th at 161. 

Kentucky's Rikke Svejgaard is the individual leader at 144.

The third and final round will begin Tuesday morning with an 8:00am CT shotgun start.
