NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's golf team kicks off their 2019 spring season this Monday and Tuesday at the WKU Spring Break Shootout in Dade City, Florida.
The squad enters the spring season with some momentum after posting three top-five finishes in four events last spring. Their best finishes were third place showings at the Morehead State event in September and the Town and Country Invitational in October.
Senior Emma Kate Liu leads the Bruins in scoring with a 76.0 average. She has three top-10 finishes, including a season-best third best showing at the APSU Intercollegiate. Freshmen Katelyn Dunstan and Cameron Fish have had a great starts to their BU careers as both are tied for second in scoring at 78.1. Dunstan has two top-25 finishes this year, while Fish has two top-20 finishes to her first year resume.
This week's Spring Break Shootout is being hosted by Western Kentucky at the Lake Jovita Country Club in Dade City, Florida. The tournament will be a two-day, 54-hole event, with 36 holes contested on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. The course will play to a par 71 and a length of 6,056 yards. The field includes 15 teams and features of likes of Austin Peay, Belmont, FGCU, Illinois State, Jacksonville, and Samford.
