NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's soccer team (1-8-1, 0-2 OVC) will look to get back in the win column with its pair of contests this weekend.  The Bruins host Eastern Illinois (2-8-1, 0-2 OVC) on Friday at Rose Park before hitting the road for a contest at last year's regular season and conference tournament champion SIUE (3-5-3, 0-1-1 OVC).

Eastern Illinois comes to Nashville looking to snap a two match skid to open OVC play.  The Panthers stand at 2-8-1 overall and have a 0-2 mark in the OVC. 

EIU is led in scoring by Molly Hawkins, who has found the back of the net seven times this season.  Kathleen Mackinnon leads the team in assists with a total of three.  In goal, Maddie Lyon leads the goalkeeper corps, logging more than 847 minutes.  She has a GAA of 2.44 and has collected 73 saves.

EIU leads the all-time series, 3-2, but Belmont won the meeting between the programs last year in Charleston, 3-1.

SIUE brings a 0-1-1 conference mark into Sunday's contest in their effort to defend the OVC regular season and tournament championships.  The Cougars stand at 3-5-3 overall.

SIUE is led in scoring by a trio of players who have each netted two goals – Cassidy Sherman, Ashlyn Walter, and Caroline Hoefert.  Between the posts, Jennifer Pelley leads the way, logging over 1,088 minutes.  She has a GAA of 0.66, has recorded 38 saves and six shutouts.

The all-time series is tied at 1-1-1 between the programs.  SIUE won the dual one year ago in Edwardsville, 1-0.

Belmont will be looking to rebound after being edged in a pair of matchups to open OVC play.  BU stands at 1-8-1 overall and 0-2 in conference matchups.

Belmont is led in scoring by freshman Emily Whitcomb (Elmhurst, Ill.), who has scored twice.  Junior Meg Howard (Brentwood, Tenn.) and senior Rachel Dill (Carmel, Ind.) lead the team in assists with two apiece.  Between the posts, junior Stephanie Bukovec (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) has logged over 927 minutes.  She has also collected 60 saves and sports a 1.55 GAA.

Bukovec is currently ranked 34th nationally in saves per game, averaging 6.0 per contest.  She is also ranked 29th in total saves and 1263rd in save percentage among all NCAA Division I goalkeepers as of September 30.  The Toronto native is stopping 78.9 percent of shots that come her way.
