KENNESAW, Ga. -- Belmont (11-32, 5-9 A-Sun) dropped a doubleheader at Kennesaw State on Saturday. The Bruins lost the first game, 0-8 and fell in game two, 0-9.
Belmont struggled offensively on the day, managing only two hits in the first game while surrendering 10 to Kennesaw State. The two hits came from sophomore Mia Vierra and senior Hannah Irwin. In game two, the offensive difficulties continued for the Bruins, as the recorded only three hits compared to 12 for the Owls. Vierra, starting game two at pitcher, had two hits on the game, while freshman Amanda Criscione added the other Belmont hit. The Bruins left five runners on base in game two and fell in six innings.
The team will return to action next Wednesday for a midweek game on the road at Southeast Missouri State. The next conference action for the Bruins will be May 4th and 5th when Belmont welcomes East Tennessee State and USC Upstate to E.S. Rose Park for the final conference games of the season.
