NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's tennis program recently announced the addition to the 2012-13 squad of transfer Erika Marschall.
Marschall will join the Bruins in the fall after spending the last two seasons competing at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas. During the last two years, she played in 21 singles matches and five doubles matches for the Mustangs. In 2010-11, she helped the Mustangs post a 23-6 record as they reached the third round of the NCAA Championship.
Prior to signing with SMU, Erika played three years at the prestigious Baylor School in Chattanooga, where she finished third in the state doubles tournament twice (2008, 2010).
"I am pleased that Erika will be joining our squad this season," said Mark Srouji, Belmont head coach. "I think her experience of playing at a top program like SMU will be beneficial to our team moving forward."
In 2012-13, the women's tennis team returns six letterwinners and five starters from a squad that went 5-13, 2-7 in the A-Sun last season.
