NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The Belmont women's tennis team finished with 23 overall wins at the Murray State Fall Classic during the past two days of competition.
Day one of competition consisted of the first round of doubles and singles play. The doubles team of sophomore Erin Allen and freshman Lauren Carelli defeated the Northern Alabama team of Linke and Flesch 7-5.
In singles play; senior Mical Johnson along with sophomores Allen, Drew Hawkins, Maria Plaksina, Nikki Christiansen, Terra Sheldon and Sarah Brackin all won their first-round matches.
Day two featured both the second and third round of singles along with the final round of doubles. The Bruins dominated the final round of doubles play, going undefeated. In singles, sophomores Nikki Christiansen and Sarah Brackin along with freshman Peyton Lee won both of their matches, while five other players (Sheldon, Allen, Plaksina, Johnson, and Hawkins) went 1-1 on the day.
Belmont's fall season will conclude on Oct. 11-13 at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships in Chattanooga.
